“Chaat House is where I usually pick up either a thaali or some parathas when I'm in a mood for simple food. The thali has a couple of soft rotis, two curries, rice, kadhi, dal, papad, and your choice of tea or chhaas.
I like the homestyle dal and kadhi as they're simple and consistently good. With the curries, I will say that although their vegetables like the mixed veg, aloo gobi, baingan bharta, etc. are not bad, the paneer dishes are usually too oily and bland. Stay away from the paneer. The chhaas is refreshing and an excellent accompaniment to the meal.
I'm also a fan of their parathas- muli, gobi and paneer are good choices. The parathas come with pickle and raita. Do eat them when they're hot and fresh, they don't do well after being reheated.
I haven't tried any of the chaat items here. I've found my formula of thaali and parathas and will probably stick to it.”
